The new Raspberry PI 4 , released just a few days ago, has had DIY enthusiasts jumping with excitement, with the first batches being almost instantly sold out on most websites. Its not a surprise that everyone whats a piece of the new Raspberry Pi 4 . Its got a huge hardware upgrade compared to the previous gen and that alone is reason enough to jump on the hype train.
So whats new on the Raspberry Pi 4?
On paper, a lot! starting off at just $35, the Raspberry Pi 4 completely blows away all the other competing single board computers out of the water with ease. Its got dual display 4 K output capability, with 2 mini HDMI ports. The new Raspberry Pi 4 has upgraded USB capacity: along with two USB 2 ports and two USB 3 port. There are 3 variations of RAM models you can pick from, ranging from 1GB, 2GB or 4GB. and to top it all off Raspberry Pi 4 comes with Gigabit Ethernet. And the processor is nothing to underestimate either, Broadcom BCM2711, Quad-core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz will be pushing the Raspberry Pi 4 forward.
Can the 8 GB make that much difference?
Even with the 4 GB RAM model, the 4 GB RAM is still a huge upgrade from last time and the possibility of an 8 GB model even existing might initially get you tingling at first. but thinking about it, do we really need an 8GB version? For most use cases 4GB of RAM is more than adequate. However, we will just have to wait and see what creators will end up making with all that power.
